A sculptural stoneware covered pedestal bowl by Herbert Sargent (American, 1912-2008), inspired by the ceremonial vessels of Korea's Silla dynasty, historically known as a kobae (고배) or gupdari-jeopsi (굽다리접시), is a defining ceramic form of ancient Korea.
